You're going to Texas...as in the state? haha wow you are definitely more cultured than I am this summer

The title of this blog was taken from an IM I got from Jennie Moore who is in my cohort for grad school...it made me laugh and I am too tired to be clever today. Just wanted to write a quick note since I know many people consider my blog their once slice of heaven in an otherwise dull existence (or that's just my ego talking). Anyway comments I have received about my blog especially from my CWE staff members who like to tease me said that my poor typing skills/grammar take away from the wonder that is my blog. Well I am here to say that I don't care...I write straight from my thoughts into the blog...I don't have time for "drafts" I will be doing plenty of those when grad school picks up again. So the point is...if I have time to look back over my blog I'll change them...if not deal...try and figure it out. So not only will by blog entertain you and educate you, but it will also be a word puzzle of trying to figure out what my mistyping’s were supposed to mean.

Now I'll get off my "soapbox" as Natty Lite would say. Anyway we're in the middle of session 4 of orientation and it's going well. Having a good time...but KENDALL WE MISS YOUUUUUU. I also want to take a moment to give yet another shout out to my QU Orientation Leaders and they prepare for the 3rd and final session of orientation at the Q. Much love to everyone...enjoy every second of it...and bring tissues for when you cry your eyes out at the closing staff meeting. Speaking of orientation I have a nice chat with Drew last night (Drew Chin from the Q...I was the orientation intern with him for 2 years and he's pretty much one of my best friends and favorite people). Anyway Drew and I went down memory lane as usual, but while talking to him I came to a great realization. I do miss the Q and I was VERY happy there...but thanks to my experience I am having at Auburn I've realized that I don't need to be at Quinnipiac to be happy...I just need to find the right place and the right people to be around to be happy. Quinnipiac will always be "home" to me in one regard...seeing that at this point I've spent nearly a quarter of my life there, but I've learned that I can find the same kind of happiness away from the Q. Drew and I didn't have a chance to expand too much on that part of the convo, but I know we will soon.

While on the subject of orientation I wanted to give a shout out to Ms. Sara Leidner who is in San Antonio for the summer doing an orientation internship at UTSA. Sara and I have been sharing may stories...so surprise since we talked constantly sharing out grad school stories as well. Sadly although I'll be in TEXAS this weekend, I'll be in Dallas...which is like 300 miles from San Antonio (we mapquested it....for the record San Antonio is over 800 miles from Auburn)...stupid Texas being. Anyway I do look foward to Texas I'm going to visit my Dad who just moved down there is March. I'm looking forward to a different southern experience...I'm only going to be there for a few days, but I'm sure I'll come back with plenty of things to write about. Hey maybe I'll be sitting next to Johnny Depp on the flight (funny how I hope for that EVERYTIME I fly). Speaking of flying...I'm gonna wear an Auburn shirt tomorrow in the airport hoping someone shouts "War Eagle" randomly at me. Check out this link to see exactly what I'm taking about http://wareaglemoment.org/ (go to the link that says view our TV commercial). Ever since Jamie sent me that link in February I've been waiting for my "War Eagle Moment." Here's hoping!

WAR EAGLE!
Jenn

P.S. Speaking of being cultured I'm going to Savannah for 4th of July weekend and Monday when I fly back from Texas I'm going out to dinner with Amy in Atlanta(Amy from my cohort who is living in ATL for the summer).
