Akers

I had myself a nice little lazy saturday inbetween orientation sessions. I was in bed practically all day watching season 8 of friends...then went out to dinner with some people. A few hours ago I got a phone call from Michelle O'Hara...she was calling from Quinnipiac Orientation and she was at John Akers. For those of you that don't know the glory and the wonder that is John Akers...he is an amazing musician that has come to QU orientation every year for like the past 14 years. John Akers plays the guitar and keyboard and can play just about ANY SONG the audience yells out. Akers is magic...and one of my favorite song's he does is Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes." So Michelle, being the amazing friend that she is, called me during "In Your Eyes" and I got to listen to most of the song with tears in my eyes...I was sad about not being at Akers, but we all know I am gonna have him play at my wedding so it's all good.

After I got off the phone with Michelle, a few minutes later I get a call from Conor (who is one of the grad interns at QU this summer) and he calls to fill me in a bit about orientation and also calls to tell me that he found something that would make me very happy. So I say...The Wish I had Known Video? And indeed I was right, Conor was shocked that I guessed it, but I had a feeling. So I am very excited to get that eventually and watch it...it is the one from my senior year so yay!

Tomorrow beings session 3 of Orientation and I'm excited...I get such a rush from it, especially move in and the welcome session. I must head to bed and rest up for the weekend.
