I just wanted to say that today randomly I heard "Sweet Home Alabama" on my neighbor's radio when I was outside. I really think Lynyrd Skynyrd is stalking me, which is fine...but a little random. I don't think I've ever randomly heard "Sweet Home Alabama" before and now I've heard it twice in three days. I don't know I find that a little strange.
One funny thing is since I've been home and going out with my friends I'll get to talking to friends of friends and other people and it will come up that I was in Alabama for 10 weeks and most people are like WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT TO GO THERE? Oh New Yorkers, that is exactly how I felt at first...but I've become a one woman PR rep for the state of Alabama...okay well maybe just the Auburn area. I've had a great time talking about how normal Alabama is, but also like to mention the many quirks I found as well.
Speaking of quirks, I was out with my friend Christine and her friend Lyn yesterday and it was so funny to hear them talk with their full blown lawnguyland accents. It's almost weird to hear people talk with the thick accent after hearing all the cute little southern drawls all summer. At the same time hearing the thick long island accent with all of the slang and curse words is a comfort of home that I did miss. Even today I found myself watching part of a "Growing Up Gotti" marathon on A&E and I still find it hilarious that they put captions on the screen so people can understand them. I can understand them just fine. The people not from the Northeast who watch "Growing Up Gotti" (if they even watch it) must be die of shock due to all the curse words, can't understand what they are saying, and don't understand why long island guys dress the way they dress. I find it all funny from both sides now. It's still fun to laugh at the quirks of the south, but now I can even laugh at the quirks of home.
War Eagle!

P.S. I saw a Mets/Braves game on tv at Turner Field..the Braves were losing...big shock, but it made me think of the fun I had when I went to the Braves game with my friends who I miss very much.
