I'll be back in Auburn one month from today! So excited.
Last night was classic, not only did I talk to a bunch of Auburn peeps online but Chuck called me at 1am...granted it was only 12am in Auburn, but I didn't care I was excited to talk to him and hear his little accent. I also talked to my love Katie Doc on the phone last night which turned into a gigglefest (is that a word? if not it should be). Anyway waaay tooo much fun. Earlier this week I got a voicemail from Mark which was HILLLL-AIR-E-US, talkin' all southerny and saying funny stuff, it was the stuff dreams are made of. I did actually get to talk to the man, the myth and the legend, Mr. Armstrong Friday which was excellent. He's a big deal and is contemplating sneaking into the Auburn/LSU game so I can have his ticket....what a guy!
Speaking of Mark....you'll appreciate this. I went through all my blog posts and spell checked them. I already knew that I was a hideous speller and I'm a pretty bad typer so together it was a mess, so I half apologize for my awwwwwful typing, but I half don't care because this was for kicks and I squeezed time in to write it as quick as possible. But seeing how I may win some literary award for my blog one day I figured I should clean it up. I also discovered that I misspelled definitely, member, surprise, and forward CONSTANTLY, but I'm not embarrassed, spelling my ONE FLAW...I can deal. haha
Oh and another fun thing all you country bumpkins in the south might enjoy. So the RAs got here this weekend and already giving me hell about my accent. I really don't understand it, especially in the north. I'm not from another planet...I live like 200 miles away from UConn. Whatever they're jealous...I'm okay with that. All of the accent teasing made me thing of "all ya'll" (no i didnt say it, just typed it).
I also wanted to mention that the fabulous Heather Lynch mailed me a cute little book for my birthday called "Why I Live in ALABAMA" and it's filled with "101 Dang Good Reasons." Let me tell you...it was full of great things about Alabama, it made me cry. Plus heather put little post it notes in the book with little comments on certain things. It was precious.
Also when stalking Heather online she has the lyrics to a song from "Wicked" that was quoted by Caroline during the banquet in regards to CWE and Summer 2006 so I just wanted to share this.
"I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend."
